Job Description

StaffSource is working with a client in the Cedar Bluff area of West Knoxville that is presently seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant for a contract-to-hire (permanent) opportunity. Some of the job responsibilities will include:

" Classifies, records and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
" Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
" Debits, credits and totals accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases.
" Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
" Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
" Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports regarding such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
" Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records.
This will be a full-time position, M-F. The salary rate for this role will be between $38,000 and $45,000, depending on prior experience and qualifications. An Associate's Degree in Accounting or a related field with 3+ years' experience is preferred, though an extensive background as a full-charge bookkeeper will also be considered.
