Job Summary: As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the design and drafting process of engineering and construction projects. Working closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders, you will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed technical drawings and plans. Your expertise in CAD software and drafting techniques will be essential in producing accurate and precise drawings that meet project requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Drafting: Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD software based on sketches, specifications, and other design inputs.
  2. Design Support: Assist engineers, architects, and designers in developing and refining design concepts, layouts, and blueprints.
  3. Dimensioning and Annotation: Add dimensions, annotations, and symbols to drawings to convey design information accurately and comprehensively.
  4. Revision Control: Maintain and update drawing files, revisions, and documentation to reflect design changes and project updates.
  5. Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and specifications before finalization.
  6. Coordination: Coordinate with project team members, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure alignment and integration of design elements.
  7. File Management: Organize and manage CAD files, drawings, and related documents in a systematic and accessible manner.
  8. Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations in the preparation of technical drawings and documentation.
  9. Technical Support: Provide technical support and assistance to project team members and stakeholders regarding CAD software and drafting techniques.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on CAD software updates, tools, and best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency in drawing production.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Associate degree or technical certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Proven experience (ideally 1+ years) in CAD drafting, preferably in an engineering, architecture, or construction environment.
  3. Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
    • Strong understanding of drafting principles, standards, and techniques.
    • Familiarity with 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization techniques is a plus.
