A well-established construction firm is seeking a skilled Construction Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations, project cost analysis, and core accounting functions. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction finance and a desire to contribute to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Oversight: Ensure all financial entries are properly recorded in accordance with double-entry accounting principles.
  • Financial Statements & Reporting: Compile and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and related financial documents to support compliance and strategic decision-making.
  • Job Cost Analysis: Monitor and interpret cost data for construction projects to evaluate performance and guide budgetary planning.
  • Banking & Cash Flow Management: Reconcile bank accounts, manage cash balances, and support liquidity oversight.
  • Payroll Coordination: Work with third-party providers to ensure accurate payroll processing and integration with financial records.
  • Billing & Bookkeeping: Maintain up-to-date invoicing and financial records while overseeing client billing cycles.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage local and state-level tax filings, including Franchise & Excise taxes and business licenses.
  • HR & Administrative Support: Assist with onboarding, terminations, and compensation changes, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Audit Preparation: Help gather and organize required documentation for internal, financial, and insurance audits.
  • Strategic Finance Support: Provide analytical and reporting support to the CFO in planning and forecasting activities.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years in financial management, accounting, or construction-related finance.
  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, STEM, or a related field.

Technical Competencies:

  • Familiarity with job cost accounting platforms and construction-specific financial systems is a strong plus.

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards, audit protocols, and industry best practices.
