JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business partners, the lean process automation team, and the technical delivery team to establish alignment between business partners on requirements, prioritization, delivery timelines, and efficient technical delivery processes related to Workday implementation projects. The Analyst must be able to effectively operate and appropriately communicate in both business and technical contexts. The scope of work supports the full lifecycle for solutions, including concept definition, business and technical design, development, organizational change, and ongoing support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•   Serve as a liaison between business and technical resources, effectively bridging technical and business languages, viewpoints, and capabilities to create a clear, shared understanding of process and solution requirements related to Workday implementation projects

•   Work with business partners and lean process automation team members to document technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

•   Identify detailed requirements from business partners through interviews, documentation, facilitated working sessions, and end user observation.

•   Work with business partners to fully understand root causes of issues in order to identify and effectively address underlying problems to drive better technical solutions.

•   Work with software engineering team to refine and manage requirements documentation for backlog items, features, and epics (currently managed in TFS/VSTS/ADO).

•   Serve as Scrum Master for active software engineering projects.

•   Assist Agile and Scrum teams to optimize their effectiveness in delivery, and align the activities of multiple teams to accelerate value creation.

•   Assist the software engineering team in maturing their story point estimation, velocity prediction, and other metrics to establish more accurate expectations with business partners.

•   Track key metrics to quickly identify when delivery is off track and help implement corrective actions as needed.

•   Help business partners align their needs with overall company goals and objectives by encouraging the prioritization of work according to strategic direction and value proposition.

•   Maintain a solid working knowledge of capabilities in order to deliver the best solutions to business problems.

•   Work directly with others to navigate project roadblocks and mediate between business partner priorities.

•   Responsible for maintaining and updating skills by participating in educational opportunities consistent with the position.

•   Responsible for completion of all documentation processes and project and time tracking efforts in a timely manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

•   Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, healthcare or related field preferred.

•   Experience in enterprise healthcare process analysis, applications and solutions is a plus, but not required.

•   Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

•   Strong interpersonal communication skills required, including the ability to work diplomatically with a diverse workforce.

•   Excellent oral and written communication skills.

•   Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating personal work schedules.

•   Resourcefulness, ingenuity, and creative problem solving.

•   Ability to work independently.

•   Strong organizational and analytical skills accompanied by flexibility to quickly adapt to a changing business environment.
