This position is responsible for lifecycle and steady state monitoring and support for all aspects of the corporate network with a focus on our network infrastructure and cloud environment to include a full suite of Cisco routers, switches, gateways, access points, firewalls, ACI fabric along with DNS/DHCP appliances. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the deployment, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation. Will work diligently to ensure end user, network and telecommunications support. In addition, the Network Administrator will coordinate efforts with other administrators, specialists and engineers as needed.

Position Qualification:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Perform duties generally expected of administrative staff providing configuration and problem resolution support for the hospital's network suite resolving level 1 and 2 trouble tickets and standard service requests as they pertain to network, firewalls, VPN, DNS and DHCP

·       Monitor and manage operational health of the network and related systems, acting upon alerts as necessary; analyze and diagnose system failures

·       Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses, ensuring stability, reliability, uptime, high availability, performance, security and integrity

·       Establish and report on performance metrics and measurements

·       Plan and perform system upgrades including firmware and software as required using established change management protocol

·       Capacity management – analyzes network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements with a focus on remote locations, data center and cloud environments

·       Configuration of network switches, routers, wireless AP's

·       Perform Wireless surveys building heatmaps for troubleshooting and upgrades

·       Respond to requests for updates to DNS/DHCP and IP address provisioning

·       Manage network service restoration – monitor for, report and manage data circuit outages; process RMA's for equipment as required, provide Reason for Outage (RFO's) reports for Problem Management resolution and follow-up

·       Manage equipment lifecycle (notifications, inventory, equipment replacement)

·       Receive additional assignments from Network Engineering or Project Management in the form of tasks with general objectives and timelines defined

·       Ability to work independently, with little direction performing other duties as assigned; may be asked to assist hands-on as field service from time to time with project implementation or in a break-fix capacity with possible travel to remote locations necessary

·       Some after-hours and on-call rotation expected


* Work with desktop and telecom field support staff to resolve end user connectivity issues

Job Skills Requirements

·       Experience in an IT support role preferably supporting Network, Telecom or Systems Administration in an enterprise operations environment

·       Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking

·       Network operations and network performance analysis skills

·       Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities

·       Ability to work independently under minimal supervision

·       Knowledge of computing infrastructures with a basic knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the network environment.

·       Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues

·       Knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.

·       Experience with WAN circuit technologies (T1, DS3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-192) along with a firm grasp and knowledge of optical fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networks

·       Qualities that would make a successful team member: strong trouble-shooting analytical skills, advocate of cross-functional collaboration, ability to understand complex business processes, rules, consistently achieves goals in timely manner, effectively manages multiple priorities and continuously work to improve technical abilities



·       Experience supporting routers and switches with Cisco IOS and Cisco NX-OS

·       Experience supporting the following platforms Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls, Cisco FMC, Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Wireless AP's, Meraki MX series, AnyConnect VPN, Infoblox DNS

·       Experience with Cisco patch management

·       Cisco VoIP experience a plus

·       Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell

·       Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification


Education / Training:

3 years of progressive experience supporting a combination of systems, network or VoIP communications environments in an enterprise network environment. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education, certification and work experience in Telecommunications, Networking, Electrical Engineering or other closely related field.
