Position Summary:

The Part- Time Full Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full spectrum of bookkeeping duties for multiple tax clients. This includes managing general ledgers, reconciling bank accounts, processing payroll, and preparing financial statements in a way that streamlines tax preparation. The ideal candidate is experienced with working in a tax practice environment and understands the importance of precision and client confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of tax clients (varied industries)
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Record and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare clean year-end financials for tax filing purposes
  • Maintain client files and ensure financial data is properly documented
  • Coordinate with tax preparers/CPAs to ensure accurate and timely filings
  • Process payroll and file payroll tax reports as needed
  • Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance reporting
  • Identify and correct bookkeeping discrepancies or inconsistencies
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive client financial data

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience (preferably in a CPA or tax firm)
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop), Excel, and general accounting tools
  • Understanding of how clean books support efficient tax prep and planning
  • Familiarity with tax-related bookkeeping entries (e.g., owner draws, depreciation, 1099s)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and client service mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts independently
  • Experience with Lacerte, Drake, UltraTax, or similar tax software a plus
