About the job

Position Summary: To serve as a bridge between accounting, finance, and Johnson City operations, bringing in-depth experience from various sectors. Ultimately responsible for developing accurate cost of goods sold data along with providing comprehensive cost analysis for effective decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

· Support the implementation of a robust cost system in our current NetSuite ERP.

· Oversee the design, creation, testing and implementation of all product bill of materials, routings, and master data for cost determination.

· Produce monthly reports, reconciling COGS, gross margins, and other financial aspects.

· Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and margin analysis activities.

· Streamline inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy in work order costing, inventory transactions and transfers.

· Define and enhance internal controls, including shipping/receiving cut-offs.

· Review and adjust overhead rates based on comprehensive analysis.

· Take on general accounting tasks as required: balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and closing activities as required.

· Pioneer in creating and maintaining accounting processes.

· Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and production, offering valuable insights.

· Serve as the point of reference for ERP and operational systems related to cost accounting.

· Generate monthly managerial reports for detailed reviews with department heads.

· Other projects as requested by management to support the business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

– Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

– 1-5+ years as a Cost Accountant.

– Proven expertise in ERP systems, NetSuite experience preferred.

– Advanced Excel experience including analytical tools like Pivot tables.

– Advanced analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.

– Exceptional communication skills; able to collaborate with various stakeholders.

– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

– Proved track record of making decisions based on solid judgment and reasoning to secure repayment from customers for invalid items.
