Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Service Calls: Schedule and dispatch service technicians for plumbing, electrical, and heating jobs based on urgency, location, and skill set.
  • Customer Communication: Answer customer inquiries, record service requests, and provide updates regarding job status.
  • Monitor and Track Jobs: Keep track of technician locations and job progress to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Efficient Routing: Optimize technician routes to reduce travel time and increase efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, work orders, and customer information using dispatch software.
  • Problem Solving: Respond promptly to unforeseen scheduling issues, such as delays or urgent/emergency requests.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and management to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role preferred; experience in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC industries is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in dispatch software and general computer skills.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage time-sensitive situations.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, or heating terminology is advantageous but not required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications are a bonus.
