Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations of CNC machining department, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and related machinery as needed.
- Train, coach, and evaluate machinists and operators to enhance team performance and skill development.
- Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
- Monitor tool life, machine performance, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
- Implement and maintain safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards throughout the machining area.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production, downtime, and personnel activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and enhancing product quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in CNC machining preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CNC programming (Fanuc, Haas, or Mazak preferred).
- Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM systems.
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
