Job Description

A leading manufacturing organization in the Knoxville area is seeking an experienced Master Production Scheduler to join its operations team. This critical position is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to ensure customer demand is met while maximizing efficiency and optimizing inventory levels.

The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing planning experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.
  • Analyze capacity constraints and adjust schedules to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production performance and recommend schedule adjustments to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production.
  • Maintain accurate planning data within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Track key performance indicators including schedule attainment, inventory levels, and on-time delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Required: Previous experience as a Master Production Scheduler, Production Planner, or Supply Chain Planner in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production planning principles.
  • Experience balancing demand, capacity, and inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
