Project Manager Assistant – Electrical Construction

About the Opportunity
A well-established electrical contracting company in the Knoxville area is seeking a Project Manager Assistant to support project management, field operations, customers, vendors, and internal teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, electrical contracting, project coordination, or a related industry and enjoy keeping projects organized from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination of electrical construction projects
- Maintain project files, documentation, schedules, and status updates
- Assist with purchase orders, material tracking, invoices, and change orders
- Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Help coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when needed
- Track project timelines, deadlines, and outstanding items
- Assist with preparing estimates, proposals, and project documentation
- Enter and maintain project information within company systems
- Review paperwork for accuracy and follow up on missing information
- Assist with scheduling meetings, inspections, and other project-related activities
- Provide administrative support to Project Managers and the operations team
- Help identify potential project delays or issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members
- Maintain professional communication with customers and business partners
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in construction, electrical, project coordination, project administration, or a similar environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and project management software
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Professional and customer-service-oriented
- Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel
Preferred Experience
- Electrical contracting or commercial construction experience
- Experience with construction management or estimating software
- Experience with purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and project documentation
- Familiarity with construction terminology and project workflows
