Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Accountant to join our finance team and support our growing operations.

Job Overview 

The Manufacturing Accountant will play a key role in managing financial activities specific to our manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and supporting process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities 

– Perform cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation. 

– Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. 

– Manage inventory accounting, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and valuation. 

– Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. 

– Prepare financial reports related to production, such as cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margin analysis, and operational budgets. 

– Collaborate with production, supply chain, and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial data and support decision-making. 

– Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. 

– Assist in developing and refining cost models and key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations. 

– Participate in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes.

Qualifications 

Required: 

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 

– Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment. 

– Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. 

– Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles. 

– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

– Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred: 

– Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting. 

– Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
