Job Description
The Accounting and Payroll Assistant Project Manager who will assist with the implementation, optimization, and operation of payroll and accounting systems to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient payroll processing at our corporate office.

Responsibilities
· Project Management:
o Plan, implement, and assist with payroll and accounting system upgrades or transitions.
o Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
o Monitor progress, manage risks, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
· Accounting Functions:
o Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, reconciliations, and audits.
o Work closely with accounting teams to streamline processes and maintain compliance with GAAP or IFRS
o Identify and resolve discrepancies in general ledger accounts.
· Payroll Functions:
o Backup payroll management
o Oversee payroll operations to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
o Address payroll issues, such as deductions, garnishments, and tax filings.
· Team Collaboration:
o Coordinate with HR, IT, and Finance teams to align payroll and accounting processes.
o Train and mentor staff on new systems, tools, and best practices
o Act as the primary point of contact for payroll and accounting system vendors
· Compliance and Reporting:
o Maintain compliance with labor laws, tax regulations and organizational policies
o Prepare reports for audits, board meetings, or regulatory requirements
o Stay updated on changes in payroll and accounting regulations.
Qualifications
· At least 5 years in accounting or payroll managements roles is required
· Proven experience managing large-scale accounting or payroll projects
· Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g. ADP, Paycom) and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
· Strong project management and organization skills
· Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
· Analytical mindset with attention to detail
· Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
· Project management certification (e.g. PMP) is preferred
· Occasional travel for training or system implementation may be required
