A well-established and growing manufacturing company in the Knoxville area is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven background in purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, components, and supplies to support production operations.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while evaluating performance.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
• Issue and manage purchase orders while tracking deliveries and resolving discrepancies.
• Analyze purchasing data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Required: Previous purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other business software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
