Position Overview
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily service operations, ensuring timely and efficient deployment of field technicians across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC service lines. This role requires exceptional communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities to balance customer needs with operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Coordination: Schedule and dispatch service technicians according to job urgency, geographic location, and technical expertise.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming service requests, providing accurate information and updates to customers throughout the service process.
- Job Monitoring: Track technician locations, job progress, and completion times to maintain service quality and adherence to deadlines.
- Route Optimization: Strategically plan and adjust technician routes to minimize travel time and maximize productivity.
- Administrative Documentation: Record and maintain detailed service call logs, work orders, and customer data in the dispatch management system.
- Issue Resolution: Quickly respond to unplanned events such as scheduling conflicts, job delays, or emergency service calls, adjusting resources as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with field technicians, operations management, and customer service teams to ensure seamless coordination and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a dispatcher, scheduler, or coordinator preferred. Industry background in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC services is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with dispatching or scheduling software and standard office applications.
- Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with industry terminology and service workflows is an advantage.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or administrative training preferred.
