Facilities & Maintenance Manager

A leading manufacturing organization in the Knoxville area is seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee plant maintenance operations, facility reliability, capital improvement projects, and preventative maintenance programs within a fast-paced industrial environment.
This leadership role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading maintenance teams to support production goals and long-term facility performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all facility and maintenance operations for the manufacturing site
- Develop and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Manage maintenance technicians, contractors, and outside vendors
- Ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and safe operation of all machinery and facility systems
- Oversee troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Manage facility infrastructure including HVAC, utilities, compressed air, plumbing, and building systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and cost reduction
- Develop maintenance budgets and manage capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and PM schedules through CMMS systems
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to support production demands
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and facility systems
- Experience managing preventative maintenance and reliability programs
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety standards
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required based on experience
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing, plastics, industrial equipment, or heavy production environment experience preferred
- Experience with capital projects and facility upgrades
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus
