About the Role

A leading consulting and financial management firm is seeking a detail-oriented Fund Accountant to manage financial reporting and accounting for trust funds and related projects. This position ensures accurate fund management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely reporting to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and accounting records for multiple trust funds.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and fund balances.
• Process disbursements, monitor cash flow, and manage fund allocations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for trust funds.
• Ensure compliance with trust agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for clients, trustees, and regulatory agencies.
• Support project managers with financial data and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with trust fund administration or environmental project accounting.
• Familiarity with investment accounting and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance for financial reporting.
