Job Summary:

The Health Insurance Follow-Up Specialist will play a key role in supporting the organization’s revenue cycle by conducting follow-up on outstanding insurance claims. This individual will leverage their knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance plans, and claims resolution to ensure payments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims with Medicare and commercial insurance providers.
  • Investigate and resolve claim discrepancies, denials, and payment delays.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all follow-up activities in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve claims processes and resolve recurring issues.
  • Support the organization’s mission by ensuring funds are recovered efficiently to enhance services to the community.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in health insurance claims follow-up, including Medicare and commercial insurance.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing practices and claims processing.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems used for claims management is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
