Job Summary:
The Health Insurance Follow-Up Specialist will play a key role in supporting the organization’s revenue cycle by conducting follow-up on outstanding insurance claims. This individual will leverage their knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance plans, and claims resolution to ensure payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform timely follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims with Medicare and commercial insurance providers.
- Investigate and resolve claim discrepancies, denials, and payment delays.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all follow-up activities in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve claims processes and resolve recurring issues.
- Support the organization’s mission by ensuring funds are recovered efficiently to enhance services to the community.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in health insurance claims follow-up, including Medicare and commercial insurance.
- Strong understanding of medical billing practices and claims processing.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems used for claims management is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
