Job Description
What You’ll Do:
· Develop, maintain, and release the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for Mill, Lathe, and EDM departments in alignment with customer delivery requirements, material availability, and capacity.
· Prepare and distribute daily and weekly shipping lists, ensuring alignment with shipping priorities and master production schedule requirements.
· Compile and release comprehensive manufacturing process documentation, including Process Books, Job Travelers, Setup Sheets, Tool Lists, In-Process Drawings, Critical Dimension Sheets, and Inspection Records.
· Participate in daily Gemba walks on the manufacturing floor to understand manufacturing issues that may impact the MPS and daily or weekly ship lists.
· Generate and maintain a monthly raw material requirements plan; collaborating with the Purchasing team to optimize cost, lead time, and inventory levels throughout the manufacturing process.
· Collaborate with Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving to ensure timely availability of raw materials, hardware, and outside processing.
· Submit tooling requisitions based on work order needs and anticipated manufacturing requirements.
· Manage onsite tooling inventory, including tracking usage, maintaining minimum stock levels, and processing returns of excess or obsolete items.
· Manage schedule changes due to engineering revisions, customer priority shifts, or unplanned disruptions (machine downtime, material delays).
What We Are Looking For:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in production or manufacturing planning in a job shop or high-mix machining environment.
· Strong proficiency in ERP/MES systems; Epicor and/or ProShop experience highly preferred.
· Familiarity with CNC job routing, work center capacities, and machine shop flow.
· Ability to read and interpret BOMs, routings, and work orders.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with the ability to efficiently analyze data, develop reports, and support planning activities.
· Strong analytical and communication skills; capable of aligning stakeholders to changing priorities.
· Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment.
Even Better:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical field.
· Experience in Project Management, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
· Experience in an AS9100 environment.
· Experience with 5-Axis Milling Platforms and Multi-Axis Turning Centers strongly preferred.
· ASME Y14.5-2018 foundational GD&T level certification is a plus, advanced level strongly preferred.
