Job Description
Job Title: Network Systems Engineer
Location: Powell, TN
Reports To: Director of IT Operations
Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, end-user equipment, and telecommunications systems. This role ensures reliable system performance, provides technical support, and helps maintain secure and efficient operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot PCs, servers, printers, network hardware, telecommunications equipment, software, and databases
- Provide technical support to end users for hardware and software issues, both onsite and remotely
- Administer and maintain the VoIP phone system, including voicemail and user changes
- Configure and manage file servers, print servers, application servers, and domain controllers
- Manage backup systems and system imaging processes
- Support virtualization environments, including hyperconverged solutions, VMware, Hyper-V, or AHV
- Administer Microsoft 365, including email, Teams, and OneDrive
- Work with external vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
- Recommend hardware and server configurations as needed
- Travel to remote facilities when required
- Participate in after-hours on-call support and scheduled maintenance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or Associate’s degree with two years of related experience, or four years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems for both workstations and servers
- Experience with LAN installation and maintenance
- Experience with software installations and upgrades
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with virtualization platforms

Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands

- Requires close, distance, and color vision
Work Environment
- Office-based environment with a generally low noise level
- Medium physical demand role with occasional repetitive motion
