Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This position involves complex accounting tasks, including financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
  • General Ledger Accounting:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Prepare and post complex journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and intercompany transactions.
    • Conduct monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    • Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
    • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled and supported.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare financial analyses and reports for management decision-making.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Tax Preparation and Filing:
    • Assist with the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and recommend enhancements to financial systems.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA certification required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry.
    • Experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and audits.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
